The Aztec Corporation completed an elegant space design for N.V. Perricone M.D.’s lifestyle center in New York City. Situated in the heart of Manhattan’s prestigious Madison Avenue shopping district, the re-imaged flagship store has a distinctive look. Perricone was seeking an environment that could facilitate interactive learning, and this philosophy sparked each of the design choices.
Aztec also completed an office redesign and relocation for long-term client Rothstein, Kass & Company, E.C. The new location at 1350 Avenue of the Americas suited Rothstein Kass’ current framework, while affording ample space for the company’s future growth. David Fournier, Principal, Susan Baumann, R.A. and Jamie Occhipinti, Directors headed this project.
In 2007, Aztec’s fruitful relationship with Pearson Education, the publishing giant reached the Flat iron District of Manhattan, as it supervised a full office redesign for Pearson’s New York Life Building address at 51 Madison Avenue.
2007 also saw a fruitful design partnership with Acuity Brands Lighting. Acuity, makers of such brands as Lithonia Lighting, Gotham, Peerless and Holophane, needed a new showroom, a contemporary training facility and a rooftop display area for its 5 Penn Plaza location.
The Swiss food giant Nestle appointed Aztec to oversee its first North American outlet, which opened late in 2006 on fashionable Madison Avenue. The Nespresso New York project was coordinated with French architects Agence Francis Krempp,which has overseen many of Nestle’s European boutiques.
